I have firmware version 2.0.x is it worth upgrading to version 2.1.g??
In my machine, it happens that when cutting for a long time (a lot of elements), the software hangs, the spindle stops or goes in the wrong direction. Can an upgrade help?

Actually, we are at the version 2.1.jOTA (26 april 2023) for the TFT firmware. I invite you to update anyway.
The update will probably not solve your issue of motors going in the wrong way. For that, I suggest to check the DIR- wire connections of the concerned drivers. Check their connections between the drivers and the Grbl board. DIR- signal controls the way of rotation of the motors.

Which version of Arduino are U using ?
What is the size of your TFT ?

I think it is an issue of Arduino 2.1.0 or MacOs (I'll try tomorrow).
You should better use Arduino 1.8.19.
However, I fix the issue changing the name of the files.
