A word of warning on cheap power supplies

When building my RS-CNC32 using parts from AliExpress, I noticed that the PSU I had received was missing the 110V-220V selector switch. Unsure if this was a faulty PSU, I decided to open it up and investigate, before I tried plugging it into the wall outlet. What I found lead me to scrap the entire ...

Re: Nunchuk

It's fine. That "missing" pin on your circuit board is not in use.

Re: Machine not remembering tool change and probe positions

@HTheatre

Well, that would be fantastic. You can add Norway to your list of distributions. :)
I'll send you a PM shortly.

Re: Machine not remembering tool change and probe positions

ah... hm.. yeah that could be it. Bought it from the aliexpress seller recommended on this site, and the reviews were positive about the card being genuine, but I guess it could be fake nonetheless. We're talking aliexpress here :) been having a hard time finding the STM32 locally. Local shops have ...

Machine not remembering tool change and probe positions

Hi,

I'm having an issue where the machine does not remember the tool change and probe positions.
All is fine as long as I keep power to the machine, but the next time I power on the machine these positions are lost.

No programmers available for this board

The instructions for flashing the ESP32 says to set Programmer to "USBasp".
However, that option does not exist. How do I fix this?

Is the upper belt supposed to ride on the belt tensioner like that?
I've noticed it's doing the same on my machine - rubbing against the belt.

Re: Got my KIT from AliExpress today

Common problem. Got the same broken corners with my shipment as well: https://www.makerfr.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=34146#p34146. It's not a big problem - just asthetics. I managed to repair and clean the corners up by saturating them in white wood glue, clamp them flat and then reshape them once dr...

Use the smooth sheet for PLA. The textured sheet is only intended for materials which stick too good, like PETG. Basically the textured sheet is designed to have less adhesion.

Dust protection of electronics - fire hazard?

With the electronics and power supply being mounter under the main cutting board, which has a bunch of holes in it, won't dust be a problem - or even fire hazard?
i'm especially concerned about the power supply which even has a fan on it, which inevitably will suck dust in.
