I'm interested in the gearing rations used with the X, Y, and Z movements.
I'm considering replacing the belt driven Y movement with a spiral cut 1:2 ration gearing box and if any one has done such and what their modification looks like and how the unit 's performance is after the change.
I'm also interested in hearing if any one has done a modification of the spindle to use a VFD and a 2.2 spindle(water cooled).
What changes are required to move the additional mass of the spindle and performance issues that I'll be needing to be aware of. I have attached the spindle specs for reference. The spindle weight is at 45Kg.
