I have my machine built and works well. In an effort to level the worksurface, i wanted to run a surfacing bit across it. In doing so, I found that my z-axis / spindle seems to be a little bit off. the bit is closer to the work surface on the left vs the right - indicating i should rotate the spindle a very small amount clockwise. However, i'm not sure the design supports that.
Any thoughts on how to approach this problem? Surfacing spoilboards result in ridges due to the bit being off kilter a little bit.
thanks,
Matt
squaring the spindle
Re: squaring the spindle
Just make some holes a bit bigger to move your spindle like you want. I did like that (holes on the plastic part which is holding the spindle a bit bigger, and holes down on the left and right aluminium panels to rotate the whole gantry front/back ).

Re: squaring the spindle
Thanks I had the same thought and started that approach yesterday. Glad it worked out for you.
