Touch Screen Controller ESP32 WIFI issues

I'm having problems getting the ESP32 to see my wifi and I don't think the SD card is working.
I've tried a number of options including disabling the wifi completely in config.h. I have also tried loading the network details in the SD card but this has not helped.
(I've verified my ESP32 can connect to my wifi by loading up some arduino wifi examples)
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Is there any way to debug the network connectivity?
