Some issues I have (Driver and Software)

Message par cncNovize »

Hello,
first of all I want to thank you for the great work.

I am building my own RS CNC and wanted to test it today (build should be done).
Unfortunately I found two issues I want to tell you:

1. X and Z axes are OK and can drive in both directions.
But Y only can moves towards me and not backwards.
Strange: When I am moving forward it does so. When I am moving backward it drives forward as well.
After driving the motor "backwards" you can hear a noise from the Y-motor itself.
Changing the TB6600 helped out so I think one TB6600 is broken.
May I can fix it myself? Does someone knows this problem?
Or can I only put the driver in the garbage?

2. When I was "playing" a bit with the three axes I stopped and wanted to investigate on problem 1.
Suddenly the Z axis moved downwards on it's own!
The Nunchuk couldn't stop em - only the reset key stopped it.
This could maybe be a software bug.

Thanks!

Greetings from Germany.

Hi Stefan,

1- Try to invert X and Y drivers and check if the issue is on X axis, if yes, your driver is dead !

2- Wich version of firmware have you ?

Hi Romain,

1. Will do it later. But why inverting X and Y? X is fine and the direction is correct. I just don't understand :?
You mean inverting the directions on X and Y? Or change them one to another?
I already tested the Y axis with the driver from the X axis.
It worked then.
so I think the Y driver is broken.
Or did you suggest another test that I don't understand right now?

2. The latest. Beta V0.95 and Beta V0.6

I also want to introduce point 3:
3. I am not sure but it seems that I can drive the motors to the homing direction even if they are at their homing point (endswitch is pressed).
Wouldn't it be a good idea that (program and nunchuk) the µC first looks if the axis is already at endpoint and only allows driving the opposite direction?

Hi,

1- it's just to verify if the driver is defective, if you invert X and Y commands and the problem of Y is found on X after invertion, it is that it does not come from the driver.

3- we are looking at this point on the firmware, like other things, the firmware is still Beta and it makes regular changes.

Greetings,

1. I switched the three control pins from X to Y and from Y to X.
X has then exactly the same problems and Y works fine.
So I guess the driver is really broken :(

3. Sounds great.
Many thanks again. You have done some fine engeneering.
For sure the software will be as good as the hardware soon.
But I wonder that there are such problems as repetier itself is a well tested software.
Of course I use marlin for my 3D-printer but the original firmware was repetier as I know.
If I only could have a deeper look into your changes and modifications.
Such great work deserves help as good as possible :!:.

Hi,

well I have received 3 new TB6600.
I tested ALL drivers with my Y-Axis and the problem stays.

Could it be that there is a software error or something?
There cant be all 3 drivers broken :?

Do you have any ideas?

Yes they are.
All is working fine so far.
Just Y wont drive in both directions - just one.

I have tested a lot.
Here are my results for the Y-Axis-Problem:

- When I am using the TFT its just doing nothing at the "wrong" direction on Y-Axis (could be because of non homing before).
- When I am using the Nunchuk it drives just in "the one" direction - even when I control to the other direction.
- The driver is 100% OK because it works on other Axis.
- Even when I invert the direction in the firmware and upload it - it wont change direction it is like no inverting!
- When I change two wires of the motorcable then it changes the direction (but for sure same error with other direction)
- When changing the command cables (pul, dir, ena) to another Axis the Y-Axis works fine with the "wrong pins" then! (Motor, driver and wires are OK).
- I checked contact with my multimeter betwen the three command pins and the driver - OK
- I checked contact with my multimeter betwen the three command pins and the pins going to the µC (the ones that I have soldered myself) - OK.
- I used Repetier-Host to control the Y-Motor: same as with nunchuk - it drives only in "the one" direction. Even when commanding to the other direction.
- Also there is a noise from the motor. In german we call it "Rauschen" ... in french you would maybe say le bruissement or le souffle (I can't french - it's from translator).

Thats crazy... .
I don't know what to do next.
It is frustrating if everything is build and fine - except this Y-Axis.

Is the direction working is away from the switch or towards the end stop switch?

At this moment it is away from the end stop switch.
But like I wrote: If I change two wires from motorcable it is towards endstop.
