Co2 laser with RS-CNC32
Co2 laser with RS-CNC32
I am building a co2 laser with my RS-CNC. Has anyone else done this? It has been challenging but it is working. What is maximum speeds you can run on RS-CNC32?
Re: Co2 laser with RS-CNC32
I have my CNC running about 1400 mm per minute on Y axis and 1000 on X axis. Is this about the top end for travel speeds without missing steps?
Re: Co2 laser with RS-CNC32
Here is a photo of my system with my CO2 laser. It is just a box mounted to the back at the correct height to get the laser beam reflected to the board. It is a 60 watt laser tube and the power supply fits in-between the box that supports the laser tube. I still need to build my box to protect the tube but have successfully cut wood veneer, paper, thin wood and am working on getting parameters for etching these materials now. It has been a learning experience. I would be glad to help anyone else interested in going down this road and would love to hear from others that have thought of doing the same.
