Cnc shield issue

hi there i recently made the rs cnc and while i was happy with the finished product i kept havng issues with the cnc shield and today i cant get t to start the roter at all but i can hear the relay clicking but no motor movemet. I have checked the wiring between the shield and the router and it is good but still the shield wont turn it on

Hi thanks for getting back to me i checked the traces on the board and all seems ok but still not turning the router on. If i power the router direct to 240v it works so has to be an issue with the cnc shield

Hello,
Can you do a continuity check on the contact of the relay ?
Unplug the router (there must be no 230V around), and use a multimeter to check if the contact is opened/closed right under the shield when you switch off/on the router on the tft.
Probably the relay is defective.

Ok now relay has been replaced and all is well thanks for the advice

It would be interesting if you can tear down the relay to look the failure and maybe you could explain what happened.
