Making PCB

Message par xaocass »

Is anyone drilling PCB's with R-CNC?
I'm 95% done with my machine and was planning on milling PCB's from time to time. But then in French part of the forum (thank's to google translate) I've read that it's not so good for PCB's? So the question is it really not possible to make PCB's on R-CN? :(
PS. I'm taking about minimal PCB's with through-hole elements and quite big traces, nothing fancy.

Yes you can, but it's not optimal. Don't make too big PCB, face a small piece of mdf first with a flat end mill, then 'double tape' your PCB and make big traces. Then, check your circuit.
We can not easily make a Z-probe on the surface with our Firmwares (Marlin or Repetier Firmware). But if you put GRBL for Ramps instead, it's possible to do it with your computer (no more LCD and SD card).
Otherwise, you can buy diretly a GRBL shield + UNO (6€ in china) and use all the same stuff than the cyclone PCB factory:

Don't stick with Marlin or Repetier Firmware for this task.
